Carry on...

Here we are again, to carry on with our last weblog, we decided to keep the Beer-and- theme.

In France it is now the Frogslegs...! (Although I've never eaten them...Still on my to do list..)

In Holland it would be the beer-and-kroket.blogspot.com, but that hardly sounds romantic.

In England it would be the beer-and-roast.blogspot.com. That doesn't sound too bad actually...!

Anyway, to get on with our story, we are one lucky couple. The last few weeks we've been slutting around with our cv's under our arms to all the agencies to try and get a job. Finally Duncan got one, on a sunseeker. But unfortunately they were quite clear that they didn't want a couple to work for them.
But... As soon as they met me (I must give a hell of a first impression) they decided to give US a chance..!

We are so lucky as half of Europe is looking for a job on the boats. We get people Dock-Walking as it's called. People walking past all the boats and (preferably in a stoner voice) asking; "Scuse me mate, you need a dekhand..." or a few aussie girls in way too tight skirts asking in a very aussie voice: "HI... We're SSSStewardeSSSeSS???... We're looking for a job..????"

Thank god it didn't have to come that far with us...

So anyway, we are the happy crew of a Sunseeker Manhattan, 64. Exactly what Duncan used to drive in Sydney and on which we fell in love..! It sure does bring back memories..!

Our new boat is owned by (as far as we know them now)a lovely couple. He's not on the boat at the moment but still calls us every day to ask (or check, who knows) how things are going. But in a very nice way.

The boat is a non-live-aboard, so that means we have to find an apartment around Antibes. At the moment we're staying at Rachel's place (Este's girlfriend, who told me to mention that Este is under New Management).
We've got some lovely friends, Lynn and Mike (mike is also known as the Oracle around here) and they sorted out a lovely apartment for us, in Biot, on the "golfclub" with a massive balcony WITH A JACCUZZI...! Thanks Lynn and Mike..!
We can at least stay there for a month, maybe longer.

Our boat is going to be based in Antibes for the summer, she (to who doesn't know this, a boat is always referred to as a she) will probably be going to Barcelona with us, and then on to the islands.

She will be for charter aswell, that means if you could spare 5000 euro's a day, Duncan and I will look after you on Joy II. (that is exclusive the fuel and foods and drinks..!)

I will soon make some pictures to post here.

I just re-read the blog. My dear lord, it is really a bit of a different one than the beer-and-curry one isn't it?!?

Well, if there's another interesting occurence, we will be sure to write it on here.
