L'aventure

So Dunc and I are on a new Aventure, number 2, but I cannot mention the name of the boat (!?).
We are now part of a time-share company. We work on one of their boats and we have 3 co-owners. It sounds like a lot of work, but I'm sure we'll love it.

There is a lot to do on the boat, we have to make it charter-worthy. But for now, the biggest challenge is cleaning it up. And I don't mean dusting and cleaning bathrooms, I mean cleaning up the stuff from the previous owner.

She was an ancient Monegasque ('someone from Monaco') woman who died recently. We knew nothing about her, but now we know a lot.
We know she had little dogs, because we found dog medicines and little tiny food-bowls. We know she loved smoking because we found about 20 ashtrays and a massive smoke-utinsil box. We know what she looked like because we found some recent passport photo's. We know she was a widdow because she had a single bed put in the mastercabin. We know she missed her husband very much because she had an old picture of him in a book, we know he loved boating aswell because on that picture he was a very handsome young man back in the 1950s on a yacht. We know she loved her booze, because the freezer was full of spirits and shotglasses. We know she had a (great)grandchild because there were lots of toys floating around. We know she loved tea, because we found 3 teapots and loads of fresh tea.

We both were really quite sad to throw these things out, because they had meant so much for a person who is not here anymore. We sort of felt like we knew her a little at the end of the day.

Still lots to do but soon the boat will be ready for L'aventure2..!
